A. Lange & Sohne introduces $1.75 million rare timepiece

"German luxury watch brand A. Lange & Sohne and Paris-based jewelry store Dubail have collaborated to (re)introduce Tourbograph Pour le Merite with an extraordinary diamond decoration. The huge amount of work involved in crafting this top quality masterpiece includes some 40 carats of baguette diamonds, and the bracelet is set with 175 stones. The case and bracelet, both rendered in platinum, offer an extremely elaborate degree of setting in areas such as the tops of the case lugs and bezel. The case flanks are set with baguette diamonds along with the chronograph pushpieces and the A. Lange & Sohne-signed winding crown. Priced at $1.75 million, at the very least, this timepiece epitomizes the authentic luxury."

BrewDog Atlantic IPA, 1st Sea-Aged Beer in 200 Years

"Maverick Scottish beer brand BrewDog, known for their outlandish-sounding ales, is releasing a limited edition Atlantic IPA (right), the first commercially available, genuine sea-aged India Pale Ale in over two centuries.

Only 960 bottles will be available in the U.S. at $25.99 per 330 ml, making it one of the most precious brews on the planet. The artfully-designed label declares it to be something extraordinary.

Made according to an 1856 recipe, the Atlantic IPA spent two months aging aboard BrewDog co-founder James Watt's fishing boat in the North Atlantic.

The incredible journey involved a "tense barrel-rescue-mission, beatings from force ten storms, 60 foot waves and encounters with killer whales." You can view the Atlantic IPA voyage online here.

The Atlantic IPA is bursting with malt character: "biscuit, toast, caramel, pirate ship oak, salt and tobacco," in addition to notes of honey, pine and vanilla.

It's Official: Water Found on the Moon

"Since man first touched the moon and brought pieces of it back to Earth, scientists have thought that the lunar surface was bone dry. But new observations from three different spacecraft have put this notion to rest with what has been called "unambiguous evidence" of water across the surface of the moon.

The new findings, detailed in the Sept. 25 issue of the journal Science, come in the wake of further evidence of lunar polar water ice by NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and just weeks before the planned lunar impact of NASA's LCROSS satellite, which will hit one of the permanently shadowed craters at the moon's south pole in hope of churning up evidence of water ice deposits in the debris field.

The moon remains drier than any desert on Earth, but the water is said to exist on the moon in very small quantities. Finding water on the moon would be a boon to possiblefuture lunar bases, acting as a potential source of drinking water and fuel."
